LPC
Free LuckPerms chat formatter with RGB colors and group formats.
What Is LPC
LPC (formerly LuckPermsChat) is a free and simple way to handle chat formatting. It connects to LuckPerms and reads the prefixes, suffixes and groups you already have, so a formatted chat is one config line away instead of three plugins wired together. The free version keeps receiving compatibility and security updates; new features go into LPC Pro.
- Free and Simple — One config.yml, one chat-format line, and LuckPerms does the rest
- Built on LuckPerms — Prefixes, suffixes, groups and contexts come straight from your permission setup
- Open Source — Public repo at github.com/ThePM2/LPC (The Unlicense) — inspect the code, file issues, contribute fixes
- Kept Compatible — Compatibility and security updates continue; new features land in LPC Pro
Features
A short feature list, on purpose: LPC formats chat and stays out of the way.
- Standard Single-Line Format — One chat-format string, for example {prefix}{name}&r: {message}
- Group Formats — A different format per LuckPerms group, including custom Unicode prefixes
- Per-World / Per-Server Formats — Switch formats by world or server using LuckPerms context
- RGB Color Codes — Standard and RGB color codes in messages, gated by lpc.colorcodes and lpc.rgbcodes
- Built-in Placeholders — {world}, {prefix}, {prefixes}, {name}, {displayname}, {suffix}, {suffixes}, {username-color}, {message-color}
- PlaceholderAPI Support — Any PlaceholderAPI placeholder inside the chat format, for example %player_gamemode%
Configuration Examples
Each example is a single line in config.yml.
- Only Prefix — chat-format: "{prefix}{name}&r: {message}"
- Message Color per Group — chat-format: "{prefix}{name}&r: {message-color}{message}"
- Username Color per Player — chat-format: "{prefix}{username-color}{name}&r: {message}"
- PlaceholderAPI in the Format — chat-format: "%player_gamemode% {prefix}{name}&r: {message}"
- Context Usage — Give a world or server its own prefix through LuckPerms context and the format follows
- Custom Unicode Prefix — group-formats: admin: "\uEffa &7{name}&r: {message}" — the glyph comes from a resource pack
A custom resource pack is needed to display a Unicode prefix.
Commands, Permissions and Dependencies
LuckPerms is required; PlaceholderAPI is optional and adds extra placeholders. Installation is the usual drop-in: stop the server, add the jar, start it to generate the config, edit config.yml, then /lpc reload.
- /lpc reload — Reloads the configuration file (permission lpc.reload)
- lpc.colorcodes — Lets a player use color codes in messages
- lpc.rgbcodes — Lets a player use RGB color codes in messages
- LuckPerms (Required) — The permissions plugin LPC formats from
- PlaceholderAPI (Optional) — Extra placeholders, including DeluxeTags through its PlaceholderAPI expansion

How reviews work
Anyone with an account can review; reviews from accounts (or emailed invite links) tied to a paid order get the "Verified purchase" badge automatically — we never add the badge by hand. Every review is checked before publication, but only for spam, abuse, or personal data: we publish negative reviews and do not reward, edit, or reorder reviews based on rating. One review per person per plugin. Reviews marked "Posted on SpigotMC" or "Posted on BuiltByBit" were written by buyers on those marketplaces and copied here by us with a link to the original; they never get the badge and are not counted in the rating.
Verified-purchase reviews get a badge.
